1. Departure from Ohrid (Early morning)
- Group gathering and drive towards Skopje via the scenic Straža mountain pass. A short break for coffee and the famous Macedonian donuts (mekici).
2. Visit to Matka Canyon
- Arrival at one of the most beautiful natural sites in Macedonia.
- Attractions: A walk along the banks of the Treska River and a visit to the St. Andrew’s Church (14th century).
- Optional: A boat trip through the canyon to the Vrelo cave.
3. Sightseeing in Central Skopje
- “Macedonia” Central Square: Discover the modern face of the city, the impressive “Warrior on a Horse” monument, and numerous statues of significant historical figures.
- Mother Teresa Memorial House: A visit to the site dedicated to the life and work of the great humanist and Nobel laureate, who was born right here in Skopje.
- The Stone Bridge: A walk across the symbol of the city, connecting the old and new parts of Skopje.
4. Old Bazaar (Čaršija)
- A stroll through the cobbled streets of the largest bazaar in the Balkans (second only to Istanbul).
- Admire traditional craft shops, old hammams (baths), caravanserais (Kuršumli-an, Suli-an), and the Church of St. Spas.
5. Free time for lunch
- Tasting authentic Macedonian cuisine in the heart of the Old Bazaar. We recommend: the famous Skopje kebapi or Macedonian baked beans (tavče-gravče).
6. Return to Ohrid
- Group gathering at the scheduled time and departure for Ohrid. Arrival in the evening hours.
